You get the files, not a licence to them

Every photograph from your sitting, at full resolution, on the day. No print-only packages, no per-image release fee and nothing held back to sell you later.

Three kinds of sitting

And one thing we no longer do, which is on the list because people still ask.

School days

On site, a class at a time, with the school’s own consent list checked against the register before anybody is photographed. Files go to the school and to parents; nothing goes anywhere else.

Family sittings

Forty minutes in the studio, everybody in it including whoever says they hate being photographed. About a third of the good frames come after the point people stop trying.

Passport and document

Ten minutes, printed while you wait, to the specification of whichever authority you are sending it to. Dull, cheap and the reason half of Navrangpura knows where we are.

What we stopped doing

Weddings. Two photographers cannot cover one properly and we were doing it with two, so we stopped rather than got worse. There are four studios in Ahmedabad we recommend and we will name them.

What a sitting costs

The whole figure, not a starting one. Prints are extra and are priced on the card rather than discovered afterwards.

Passport and document

Ten minutes, printed while you wait, six copies.

₹350
  • Six prints to specification
  • Digital file by email
  • Re-shoot free if an authority rejects it

Asked before booking

Four answers, and the first is the one most studios answer the other way.

Do I get the original files?

All of them, full resolution, on the day, on a drive you take away. No watermark, no low-resolution proofs and no licence — they are photographs of your family and the idea that a studio should own them has never made sense to us.

Why can I not see examples online?

Because almost everything we photograph is a child. The book in the studio has about four hundred frames in it and we will sit with you and go through it — which is a longer answer than a gallery and, we think, a better one.

How many photographs will I get?

Usually between eighty and a hundred and forty from a family sitting, and we do not cull them to make a smaller set look more curated. Some will be bad; you can see those too.

Can you retouch?

Colour and exposure on everything, as a matter of course. Anything beyond that — and particularly on a child — only if you ask, and we will say once that we would rather not.

Book a sitting

Studio sittings are Tuesday to Saturday. For a school day, telephone instead — it needs a visit before a date.

Come and look at the book first

Twenty minutes, no appointment, no obligation. It is the only way to see our work and it is better than a website would be.
